Professional bodies nominating consultants also have a vital role to play. Please read the guide for nominators before submitting your nominations (PDF 211Kb).
Assessing an application
If you are on an awards committee, for either employer based or national awards, it is important to know exactly what to look for when assessing applications.
Please read the guide for assessors (PDF 224Kb) for more details on what criteria you should be using to assess applicants.
Renewing an application
A national level clinical excellence or distinction award is usually valid for a period of five years. Award holders are reminded that the renewal of their award is four years after receipt to minimise disruption to the payment. For example those with a national level clinical excellence or distinction award valid until 31 March 2013 must review their award in the 2012 round. If an award holder is unsure of the period of their award they should contact ACCEA for confirmation.
Renewal of a national level clinical excellence award is processed using the online system.
ACCEA try their best to remind those due to review their award but cannot guarantee to do this. Failure to review can result in the award being withdrawn.
Screen by screen guidance for part 1 of your application
To assist you with completing your application for a national clinical excellence award in the 2012 round we have provided screen by screen guidance, which takes you through the online application system. This document should be read in conjunction with the 2012 guide for applicants.
